FITNESS-HEALTH-BROKEN HEART SYNDROME-TAKOTSUBO CARDIOMYOPATHY

WHAT IS TAKOTSUBO CARDIOMYOPATHY
When reacting to an acute stress or an extreme shock, which could be either negative or positive, certain people are subject to the following condition. In one case the patient’s,female,ECG and ultra scan showed the non functioning of the left ventricle.At the same time there was no block and reduction of blood to heart muscles. It was as if the left ventricle muscles were paralyzed. this type of condition is known as tokotsubo Cardiomyopathy, which is also known as”Broken Heart Syndrome”.
The Symptoms
1.A an acute pain in the chest, left arm and in the neck.
2.With the above, there could be breathlessness, nausea and/or vomiting
Mostly Affects Women
1.A study revealed that 90% of the patients were women between the ages 50 to 70.
2. It is believed that reduction in oestrogen level in women after menopause, could trigger the nervous system to produce too much stress hormone.
Causes for this conditionGirl in depression
As said above, the cause for this heart attack like illness is acute stress or an extreme shock. In the condition described above the patient had reacted to a sudden marriage breakdown. She was above 50 years.
Treatment.
As shock and stress are not directly and easily preventable, the patient needs to be kept under close observation,in ICU, and checked for any further sign of stress or shock.
The patient is advised bed rest in quiet and calm surroundings away from excitement and stress.
Patients can take up to yoga and meditation.
